Opposition Leader Alex Borg has pledged to reopen the long-abandoned PN club in Rabat if he is reinstated as party leader.
During a visit to the Rabat festa, Borg was seen entering the party’s closed premises in Triq il-Kbira alongside local members before announcing his vision to restore the building for the benefit of both Nationalist supporters and the wider Rabat community.
The PN club has remained closed for years after renovation works stalled and were never completed.
The Rabat property is one of the largest owned by the Nationalist Party, featuring a spacious central courtyard that previously hosted hundreds of people during festas, community events and party activities.
Borg said the building should once again become a lively meeting place for the community, rather than remaining closed and unused.
He added that reopening the historic club forms part of his wider vision to breathe new life into PN properties across Malta and Gozo, strengthening the party’s presence within local communities while making its spaces more accessible to the public.
