
Two Somali men have been arraigned in court after allegedly selling drugs in Paceville during a police operation over the weekend.
According to Times of Malta, police said officers from the Drug Squad, together with St Julian’s police and the Community Policing Team, spotted the pair allegedly carrying out a drug transaction with an Italian national attempting to buy cannabis on Saturday.
One of the men, 25-year-old Ahmed Abdi Mohamed, admitted to trafficking cannabis and dealing cocaine. He was sentenced to one year in prison and fined €500.
The second man, 23-year-old Mowlid Ahmed Salah, was charged with possessing cannabis and cocaine with the intent to traffic. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody after police allegedly found sachets containing the suspected drugs during a search.
