Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing a skilled, innovative, and employment-ready workforce through sustained investment in education and technical skills development.
The Governor gave the assurance on Friday while inspecting the ongoing construction of the Adamawa State College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies (ADCOTIES) in Gulak.
During the on-site assessment, Governor Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the flagship institution, describing it as a strategic investment in the future of Adamawa State. He noted that the college is being developed as a modern centre of excellence to equip young people with practical, industry-relevant skills in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and vocational education.
Speaking during the inspection, the Governor emphasized that the institution represents a major investment in human capital development, which he described as essential to the state’s long-term economic growth and self-reliance.

“This institution is not just about building structures; it is about building the future of our youth and the economy of our state,” Governor Fintiri said. “We are committed to producing graduates who are not only employable but also capable of creating employment opportunities through innovation and entrepreneurship.”
He noted that the establishment of ADCOTIES is a key component of his administration’s education and skills development agenda, aimed at preparing young people to compete effectively in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
According to the Governor, the college, upon completion, will serve as a catalyst for enterprise development, technological advancement, innovation, and sustainable economic growth across Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri was accompanied by senior government officials during the inspection and reiterated his determination to ensure that the project is completed on schedule and to the highest standards.
He assured the people of the state that his administration would continue to prioritize initiatives that bridge the gap between education and employment while fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development among the youth.
