Indonesia and Singapore signed 26 cooperation agreements during the annual Leaders' Retreat at the Merdeka Palace, here, on Monday.
In his remarks, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the agreements reflect the increasingly strategic partnership between the two countries across various sectors, ranging from the economy, investment, defense, energy, environment, digital transformation, to human resources development.
"This meeting produced 26 tangible and concrete achievements in various fields, comprising 18 government-to-government cooperation agreements and eight business-to-business agreements. These achievements reflect the broadening and deepening of our cooperation," President Subianto remarked in a joint statement with Singaporean Prime Minister (PM) Lawrence Wong.
The eight cooperation documents formally exchanged in the presence of both leaders are as follows:
Joint Report to Leaders on Six Working Groups on Economic Bilateral Cooperation between Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong.
Joint Statement on Supply Chain Resilience between Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Collaboration on Carbon Credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement between Indonesia's Minister of Environment Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat and Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.
Joint Update on Defence Cooperation between Indonesia's Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Singapore's Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing.
Roadmap to Catalyze Cross-Border Electricity Trade between Indonesia's Minister of Investment and Downstreaming as well as CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Perkasa Roeslani and Singapore's Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology Tan See Leng.
B2B MoUs between Danantara Indonesia-Keppel Ltd., Danantara Indonesia-Singapore Energy Interconnections, and Danantara Indonesia-Sembcorp, represented by CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, CEO of Singapore Energy Interconnections Ong Teng Koon, Managing Director of Integrated Power Business of Keppel Infrastructure Division Bong Huey Yun Janice, and Chief Financial and Investment Officer of Sembcorp Lim Kwang Ming.
MoU on Strategic Digital Cooperation on Digital Infrastructure between Telkom Indonesia and the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Singapore, presented by Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani and Managing Director of EDB Jermaine Loy.
MoU on Trade AI Advisor between the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) Anindya Bakrie and the Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation Mark Lee Kean Phi.
In addition to the eight documents exchanged during the ceremony, Indonesia and Singapore announced 18 other agreements, including women's empowerment and child protection, research and innovation, nuclear safety, youth and sports, financial technology, air connectivity, and industrial estate development. Those additional agreements are:
MoU on Cooperation in Women Empowerment and Child Protection.
MoU on Research and Innovation Cooperation.
MoU on Bilateral Partnership for Environmental Cooperation.
MoU on the Exchange of Technical Information and Cooperation on Protection, Nuclear Safety, Security, and Safeguards Matters.
MoU on Regulatory Cooperation for Health Products and Medicines.
MoU on Youth and Sports Cooperation.
MoU on Cooperation in Financial and Technology.
MoU on Court-to-Court Communication on Cross-Border Insolvency and Debt Restructuring.
Renewal of MoU on Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building.
Renewal of MoU on Cooperation Between National Archives.
Agreement to strengthen Indonesia-Singapore air connectivity cooperation.
Reactivation of the joint working group on education.
Young Farmers Development Program.
Agreement to strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of Indonesia and Singapore.
Cooperation on the development of biogas into biomethanol between Pertamina Power Indonesia and CrecTech Singapore.
Cooperation on industrial estate development between HKI and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation.
Joint venture between Jababeka and Sembcorp for the development of the Kendal Industrial Estate.
Investment partnership among Sembcorp, PT Sensa, and Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) for the Morowali Solar Energy Project.
The agreements are expected to drive economic growth, bolster regional resilience, accelerate the energy transition, improve industrial competitiveness, and unlock investment and innovation opportunities that provide tangible benefits for the people of both nations.
