Adam Sandler's Marriage Advice to Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Revealed After Officiating Wedding
Adam Sandler may have seemed like a surprise choice to officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.
But not only is his household full of Swifties, Kelce's Happy Gilmore 2 costar is also a bit of a marriage expert, having celebrated his 23rd wedding anniversary with wife Jackie Sandler in June.
In fact, Sandler marked the day by having a skywriter scrawl "23 A [heart] J" in the heavens, a gesture right out of a Swift song. (Really, though, as "The Very First Night" off of Red (Taylor's Version) goes "I wish I could fly / I'd pick you up and we'd go back in time / I'd write this in the sky.")
So, when the Sandman advised the newlyweds during their July 3 vows at Madison Square Garden to "keep kissing," he knew of what he spoke.
However, the 59-year-old—who shares daughters Sadie, 20, and Sunny, 17, with Jackie—would never call himself a marital mastermind.
"Nobody wants to hear about Adam Sandler’s secret to marriage, but I guess here’s the secret," Sandler told AARP The Magazine in 2022. "Jackie and I like spending time with each other. We try to make each other laugh, try to listen, try to include each other, try to support each other. We try our best—that’s all. And we don’t ever think of not being together. We always talk about our future together."

He met Florida native Jackie Titone when she played a waitress in his 1999 comedy Big Daddy. She eventually said yes to a date and they've been together ever since, tying the knot at broadcasting legend Dick Clark's Malibu estate in June 22, 2003.
"Your ‘I do’ was the best gift of my life," Sandler wrote on their 20th anniversary. "My heart has been yours since the first second I saw you and I love and appreciate your devoted soul more and more each day. Us. The kids. Lets keep going and going babe. Lots of love to give you. Always."
In case you weren't convinced yet as to why Swift and Kelce picked him to preside over one of the most magical moments of their lives...
Jackie, 51, has since appeared in more than 20 of her husband's movies, and their kids are also Happy Madison Productions veterans, often playing the children of Sandler's character, though Sadie branched out this year in Netflix's Roommates and Sunny stars in the upcoming musical Don't Say Good Luck.

Yet though he never casts his real-life wife as his onscreen spouse or love interest, Sandler admits that their enduring spark tends to light up their scenes together, regardless of what role Jackie is filling.
“Sometimes it looks a little weird that we're falling in love and it doesn't make sense to our characters,” he told People last July when she played his daughter's dance teacher in Happy Gilmore 2. “But we do have a nice attraction for each other.”
Really, though, the main point of all this moviemaking together—in addition to supporting his kids' love of acting—is to spend as much time with his family as possible.
"You're just happier," Sandler explained on a July 2020, episode of the Daddy Issues podcast. "You love your kids so much, you don't want to be away from them."
And as he told People in November, he and Jackie are simply "very close. We like to talk, like to laugh, like to have fun, and like to think about things and take care of our kids."

Another thing they did as a family was attend the premiere of Swift's Era's Tour concert film in 2023, both Sadie and Sunny—who were warmly greeted by Swift herself, naturally—being known to sing the artist's music on tour stops with their dad.
Sandler's favorite Swift tune, meanwhile, is "The Best Day," all about unconditional familial love.
"We connected with that when the kids were young," he shared on an August 2024 episode of Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast. "Every album, we listen to the first day it comes out."

And while the couple were still a year away from getting engaged, Sandler may have unwittingly been auditioning for a certain wedding role when he told Swift's future husband, "When you guys first started dating, my God, was my family like, 'Yes! Look how good they are together, look how he's a gentleman and she's having so much fun with him.' Like, anytime Taylor's laughing with you, my whole family is, like, high-fiving."

As for his own love story, Sandler believes that, even if acting hadn't worked out for him, he and Jackie would have found each other, somewhere, some way.
"I'd probably still be married to my wife, Jackie," he said in January, shouting out his "forever girl" while accepting the Chairman's Award at the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival. "That's destiny, nothing stops that."
He probably wouldn't have officiated the Swift-Kelce nuptials, either, but that timeline can forever hold its peace.
With so much love in the air, baby, just say yes to more sweet photos of the Sandler family:
