Kaduna-based leading architect, Ahmad Danbaba has urged professionals to take leading roles in the governance of the country.
Danbaba made the call while formally declaring his intention to contest the Doka/Gabasawa Constituency seat in the Kaduna State House of Assembly under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
The politician who insisted that it is time for competent professionals to move beyond criticism, urged them to actively participate in governance.
The architect and entrepreneur said his decision to seek elective office was informed by his conviction that Nigeria’s leadership challenges can only be addressed when experienced professionals and successful entrepreneurs bring their expertise into public service.
According to Danbaba, governance should not be left solely to career politicians, stressing that individuals with proven records in business, innovation and community development have a responsibility to contribute to nation-building.
“Many professionals and successful entrepreneurs have the knowledge, exposure and leadership qualities needed to transform society, yet they often choose to remain on the sidelines while criticising the quality of leadership. I believe that trend must change,” he said.
Seeking to represent Doka/Gabasawa Constituency in the 2027 elections, Danbaba said his campaign is built around expanding educational opportunities, empowering young people and women, supporting entrepreneurship, improving healthcare delivery, developing infrastructure and promoting transparent, accountable governance.

“We are not just running for office; we are opening doors for every young person who thinks leadership is out of reach. I want to demonstrate that courage and competence can inspire meaningful change,” he stated.
Danbaba, who heads the Danbaba Group of Companies, said his years in architecture, real estate and consultancy have equipped him with practical leadership and project management experience that will be valuable in public office.
He also highlighted his investment in youth development through Amdan Academy, a mentorship and skills acquisition initiative that has trained more than 500 young Nigerians in architecture, engineering, construction, information technology, entrepreneurship and other professions.
“To me, success is not measured by personal accomplishments alone but by the number of lives you positively impact,” he said.
The assembly hopeful added that his record of community service, youth empowerment and support for education reflects his long-standing commitment to grassroots development.
He said his ambition is driven by a desire to build stronger institutions, expand opportunities for young people and provide effective representation that delivers tangible benefits to the people of Doka/Gabasawa Constituency.
