
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte visited and reportedly just left the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital at Camp Crame on Tuesday, July 7, where Sen. Rodante Marcoleta is currently undergoing medical examination.
Marcoleta, age 72, facing a plunder case in connection with the P75-million undeclared campaign donations, was brought to the PNP General Hospital after complaining of chest pains and high blood pressure during his booking procedures at Camp Crame on Monday, July 6.
The Office of the Vice President confirmed that Duterte visited the senator.

Several vehicles were seen leaving the hospital premises at 8:35 am.

His three other co-accused — former Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor and businessmen Joseph Espiritu and Aristotle Viray — were earlier detained on Monday at the Quezon City Jail-Mail Dormitory.
Meanwhile, Duterte was a no-show at Monday’s opening of her impeachment trial at the Senate.
Duterte is on trial over allegations including the misuse of confidential and intelligence funds, unexplained wealth, and betrayal of public trust. /das
