Two people have minor injuries after a helicopter made a "hard landing" at Gisborne Airport this afternoon.
Police said emergency services were called to the airport about 2pm.
They said two people were reported to have minor injuries after the helicopter made a "hard landing".
Police said the Civil Aviation Authority had also been notified.
The airport said in a post on social media that two people were on board the aircraft.
It said emergency services remained at the scene, and the airport was working closely with the relevant agencies to support the response.
"The cause of the incident is not yet known and will be investigated by the appropriate authorities."
People have been asked to avoid the area.
