
KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Authorities arrested two men allegedly caught possessing suspected shabu worth P510,000 during a buy-bust operation on Sunday evening at Barangay Morales here.
The suspects were identified only by their aliases “Obet,” 38, a laborer from Barangay Cannery Site in Polomolok town, and “Jess,” 42, an electrician from Barangay Manuel M. Roxas, Sto. Niño town, all in South Cotabato.

Harold Cornel, Koronadal police chief, said the suspects were arrested at 10:29 p.m. on July 5 after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer posing as a buyer.Aside from the buy-bust item, police also recovered three more sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 75 grams with an estimated street value of at least P510,000.Authorities also recovered the P500 marked money used in the operation, two bags, and a Honda RS150 motorcycle allegedly used in their illegal drug transactions.The seized evidence was inventoried in the presence of the suspects, a media representative, and a barangay official before being turned over for forensic examination.The suspects are facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.The operation was conducted along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12, South Cotabato Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, City Police Provincial Drugs Enforcement Unit, and the South Cotabato Police Intelligence Unit./coa
