Six people have been killed and one woman critically injured in separate attacks on communities in Barkin Ladi and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State.
The spokesman of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the attacks to journalists in Jos on Monday, saying the incidents occurred between Saturday and Sunday.
He described the killings as unprovoked and called on security agencies to end the recurring attacks on communities in the state.
He said armed men attacked farmers at Rinyan village in Ta-Hoss Community, Riyom LGA, at about 2pm on Saturday, killing Mrs Hudung Luka, 40, and critically injuring Mrs Ladi Istifanus, 50.
He said the attackers later invaded the Sabon Layi community in Barkin Ladi LGA, the same night, where they killed Sunday, 25; Benjamin James, 33; and Godwin Yakubu, 27.
Tengwong added that the attackers struck again in the early hours of Sunday at Kwi village in Riyom LGA, killing Peter Bulus and another resident.
The spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Capt. Polycarp Oteh, did not respond to enquiries by our correspondent as of press time.
