Fire Breaks Out At db St George’s Bay Development

A small fire broke out at db Group’s St George’s Bay development on Tuesday morning after flames erupted inside a retail outlet that is still under construction.

The fire started in one of the shops within the shopping mall, which has yet to open to the public.

According to Times of Malta, a spokesperson for db Group said the blaze was quickly contained and confirmed that no one was injured.

Officers from the Civil Protection Department responded to the incident after police were notified at around 8:40am.

Restaurants and other parts of the development appeared to be unaffected, with hotel staff returning to the building shortly after the incident.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
