Napoli Chairman De Laurentiis probed for alleged financial crimes regarding Bari

producer Aurelio De Laurentiis and his son Luigi are under

investigation over alleged financial crimes regarding another

Italian soccer club, SSC Bari, sources said on Tuesday.

In 2018 the local authority gave De Laurentiis's Filmauro

company the right to run SSC Bari, which was created after its

predecessor, AS Bari, went to the wall. Luigi De Laurentiis was

made chairman of SSC Bari .

The club climbed from the fourth to the second tier between 2018

and 2022, but it was relegated from Serie B last season and is

set to return to Serie C next term.

The father and son are reportedly under investigation for

alleged false statements in Bari's 2024 financial statements and

for alleged fraudulent bankruptcy related to a request to

initiate liquidation proceedings for insolvency.
