
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the signing and announcement of 16 cooperation agreements on Tuesday, expanding bilateral ties in defense, space, healthcare, agriculture, technology and education.
The agreements include government-to-government partnerships and business-to-business deals covering space, defense, healthcare, agriculture, telecommunications, education and other strategic sectors.
The signing ceremony formed part of Modi's state visit to Indonesia.
Proceedings began with the exchange of an extended cooperation agreement between Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the peaceful exploration and use of outer space.
The agreement was exchanged by BRIN Head Arif Satria and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri before the remaining agreements were announced.

The agreements include expanded cooperation on space exploration, maritime security and defense, disaster management, minerals, steel technology, healthcare workforce development, and conservation of Prambanan Temple.
The package also covers cooperation in telecommunications, pharmaceutical regulation, agriculture, electoral management, and research, technology and innovation.
The business agreements include a procurement contract for the BrahMos missile system between BrahMos Aerospace and Indonesia's Defense Ministry.
Another agreement covers air-to-air missile procurement between Bharat Dynamics Limited and Republikorp.
The remaining deals include cooperation among mineral technology companies, a strategic joint venture between Steel Authority of India Limited and PT Krakatau Steel, and an education partnership between the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and PT Intelegensia Grahatama.
