
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Separate shooting incidents allegedly fueled by personal grudges occurred in two Bukidnon towns on Monday morning; there were no casualties, though, after one gunman missed his targets and another victim miraculously survived a bullet to the head.
The first incident involved a 46-year-old suspect who surrendered to the Don Carlos Municipal Police Station at 11:30 a.m., hours after firing at two farmworkers over an alleged land dispute.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10) said the victims, aged 46 and 61, were tending to a rice field in P-6, Barangay Bizmarts at around 8:45 a.m. when the suspect arrived. He fired an unknown firearm, but missed both men entirely.

The suspect fled the scene in an orange Toyota Hilux but turned himself in after police activated “Oplan Shield” and launched a hot pursuit.
He is currently in custody and scheduled for a paraffin test, while the confiscated firearm will undergo a ballistic examination.
Barely two hours earlier on Monday, a 32-year-old man survived an apparent murder attempt in CMK, Barangay Poblacion, Impasugong town.
At 7:15 a.m., an unidentified suspect approached the victim and fired a .38 caliber pistol at the back of his head.

But miraculously, the victim was treated as an outpatient at the Impasugong Rural Health Unit after medical personnel deemed the gunshot wound minor.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction and remains at large. Investigators linked the attack to a previous gambling dispute.

Col. Oliver Sotto Navales, Bukidnon Police Provincial Office director, ordered the arrest of the Impasugong gunman.
