
Regine Velasquez appealed to her financially able fans to give way and let those who cannot afford tickets to experience attending her show through her free “Finale” concert.
The Asia’s Songbird made the appeal through her X page on Monday, July 6, after the announcement of her free concert scheduled on Oct. 18.
“Hello guys. I’m excited, nervous and anxious—sama-sama at nagkakagulo na ang feelings ko (I’m having mixed feelings),” she admitted. “But most importantly I’m really grateful.”

She revealed that it was her sister, Cacai Mitra, who thought of holding a free concert to express gratitude to Velasquez’s supporters.

“Actually siya ang producer ng concert na ‘to, not me. Gusto niya na sa last concert ko makapagpasalamat kami sa inyong lahat,” Velasquez said. “Siya ang naghanap ng mga tutulong samin para kahit papano matulungan kami sa sa cost.”
(Actually, she is the producer of this concert, not me. She wants to thank all of you on the last day of my concert. She was the one who looked for individuals who will help us with the concert cost.)

Addressing her fans, she wrote, “Ang pakiusap lang namin, sana sa mga nakakaluwag, ibigay na natin yung free night do’n sa mga hindi talaga makabili ng tickets. Para naman sa mga nangarap mapanood ako [nang] live, mabigyan sila ng pakakataon makita ako.”

(We are just asking well-off fans to give chance to those who cannot really afford the tickets. Let’s give the opportunity to those who have been wanting to see me perform live.)
Reiterating her gratitude, she added, “Maraming salamat sa 40 years. Love you, guys.” (Thank you for [supporting me for] 40 years. Love you, guys.)

The registration for the free tickets starts on July 30.

Velasquez is set to stage her “Finale” concert on Oct. 17 and 18 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The tickets for the first day of the concert will go on sale on July 30 as well. /ra
