As the Round of 16 concludes on Tuesday (today), PUNCH Online curates a list of players who have scored the most penalties in World Cup history.
This is based on FIFA statistics sighted on the body’s website on Tuesday.
The rankings exclude penalties converted during shootouts.
Kane tops the all-time list with six successful penalties from seven attempts, following his conversions against Croatia and Mexico at the 2026 tournament.

Ronaldo moved to four successful penalties after scoring against Croatia in the Round of 32, joining Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta, Portugal great Eusebio and Netherlands forward Rob Rensenbrink on four goals from the spot.
Argentina captain Lionel Messi also has four World Cup penalties but from seven attempts after missing against Austria in the ongoing tournament.
Mbappe joined the group of players with three successful penalties after converting against Paraguay in the Round of 16.
Kane and Mbappe remain active in the tournament and could extend their records in the quarter-finals.
Messi’s Argentina will play their round of 16 game against Egypt later today.
