
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed their support for a Two-State Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as the path toward resolving tensions in the Middle East.
"Both countries continue to support dialogue, diplomacy, and international law as the basis for achieving a peaceful resolution to conflicts in the Middle East," Prabowo said during a joint press statement following bilateral talks at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Prabowo said Indonesia and India share the view that disputes should be resolved through dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law.
He added that both countries agreed the Palestinian issue should be resolved through a Two-State Solution as the foundation for achieving lasting peace.
"Prime Minister Modi and I remain committed to supporting efforts to advance global peace and stability while ensuring that the voices of the Global South are heard," Prabowo said.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a range of regional and global issues, including developments in the Indo-Pacific.
Prabowo said Indonesia and India remain committed to promoting a free, open, transparent, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region while upholding ASEAN centrality.
Modi reaffirmed India's support for a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue through a Two-State Solution.
"On the issue of Palestine, we support the Two-State Solution and sustainable, long-term peace," Modi said.
Modi also expressed confidence in the future of Indonesia-India relations, citing the two countries' longstanding historical and cultural ties.
"The opportunities of this golden era lie before us. Our history is rooted in our shared culture. Our mutual trust, our partnership, and our future will continue to be shaped by shared prosperity," Modi said.
