
MANILA, Philippines — Some facilities in the train stations of the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) were temporarily unavailable on Tuesday evening due to the heavy rainfall, the train line reported.

In an advisory issued at 9:26 p.m., the MRT-3 said that the following facilities are currently unavailable to passengers:

Elevators (northbound and southbound) at North Avenue station
Elevator (southbound) and escalator (southbound) at Quezon Avenue station
Elevators (northbound and southbound) and escalator (southbound) at Kamuning station
Elevators (northbound and southbound) at Cubao station
Elevator (northbound) Boni station
Elevators (northbound and southbound) and escalator (southbound) at Buendia station
Elevators (northbound and southbound) and escalator (northbound) at Magallanes station
The MRT-3 advised passengers “to exercise extra caution while moving through the stations.”

Meanwhile, in a thunderstorm advisory issued at 8 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that several areas in Metro Manila were experiencing intense to torrential rains with lightning and strong winds.
The downpours were happening in Quezon City, Makati City, Valenzuela, Malabon, Caloocan, Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Manila, Pasay, Pateros and Navotas.
Pagasa said that this condition may persist for two hours and may affect nearby areas. /apl
