MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) carried out a revamp of its head officers in the National Capital Region (NCR) effective on Tuesday after the arrest of three alleged “fixers” in entrapment operations conducted by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (Arta) and the Philippine National Police.
The fixers caught on June 29 by personnel from Arta and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group were allegedly facilitating the release of permits or licenses for student drivers at the LTO West Manila District office and the LTO main office on East Avenue, Quezon City.
LTO Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said in a statement that the two chiefs of the offices concerned are being investigated to determine if they were negligent in their duties or in connivance with the suspects.
