The Abia State Chairman of the Labor Party, Mr Peter Azubuike, has said the party is the most stable and strong with political structure on ground in the state for the 2027 general elections.
Azubuike said this while addressing journalists during an interactive media engagement in Umuahia.
He noted that the party is structurally and administratively positioned, which accounts for the influx of stakeholders and hundreds of thousands of their supporters from other parties ahead of the 2027 polls.
The Labor Party Chairman expressed confidence that the incumbent state governor, Alex Otti will return as the state governor in 2027, stating that the governor won 2023 election as himself, not because of Peter Obi wave.

Azubuike said that in 2015, Otti ran and won the governorship election, regretting, however, that he was robbed of that victory and also in 2019.
“In 2023, Otti, moved into Labour Party, before Peter Obi. That means his political calculations were much advanced, and if that election was done without Obi in the picture, he won his election landslide.
“Otti’s wave is natural. Otti’s wave has been here substantially since 2015, such that anybody who wants to run for election, his biggest challenge will always be, that man, Otti. So with all due respect to the Obi wave, the Otti’s wave has always been substantial since 2015”, he said.
He urged Abians to keep supporting Otti, who, through good governance, has restored the dignity of the Abia people as well as repose their confidence in the LP ahead of the 2027 general elections for greater democracy dividends.
