
BUTUAN CITY – The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte (CGSSDN) has ordered all its units to be on heightened alert on Wednesday due to the threat of Super Typhoon Inday.
The CGSSDN’s Deployable Response Groups (DRGs) were already activated to ensure maximum personnel readiness for potential response operations.
“All units were also directed to conduct close coordination with their respective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management offices for possible augmentation and deployment,” the CGS unit said.

The CGSSDN covers all of Surigao del Norte, including the Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands and Surigao City.
“Simultaneous patrol operations at the shorelines of the respective areas of responsibility were conducted by the station’s sub-units to disseminate information to coastal residents and fisherfolk about the prevailing weather disturbance,” the command said.
It added that patrol operations also include the distribution of flyers titled “Mga Paalala sa mga Mangingisda sa Panahon ng Bagyo” to disseminate information regarding the prevailing weather disturbance.
