Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) and the Ministry of Transportation are hosting the Indonesia Aero Summit (IAS) 2026 to boost national aviation connectivity and competitiveness.
INACA Chairman Denon Prawiraatmadja said the 3rd IAS serves as a collaborative platform for the government, industry players, and all stakeholders to sustainably strengthen the national aviation ecosystem.
"Especially in responding to the current situation, where the economy and geopolitical conditions may not provide enough support for the growth of the national aviation industry," Prawiraatmadja said after the opening of the IAS 2026 here on Wednesday.
According to him, collaboration is necessary to address global economic challenges and geopolitical dynamics so that the growth of the national aviation industry can be maintained through various breakthroughs and innovations.
He emphasized that strengthening the aviation ecosystem aims to maintain passenger connectivity and interregional cargo distribution so that public mobility and national economic activities can continue to run optimally and sustainably.
Prawiraatmadja noted that the IAS 2026 was attended by various global aircraft manufacturers and serves as a platform to bring together industry players to strengthen partnerships, investment, and the development of aviation technology in Indonesia.
During the event, state oil and gas company Pertamina and Boeing signed a cooperation agreement to conduct a trial of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to support the aviation sector decarbonization.
Through the IAS 2026, INACA expects that more Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will invest in developing technology and support the sustainable growth of Indonesia's aviation industry.
INACA said it is optimistic that collaboration with the Transportation Ministry and all stakeholders will strengthen the national aviation ecosystem, making Indonesia's aviation industry more competitive, innovative, resilient, and globally competitive.
"Through this event, there will be greater participation from all OEMs, who will see Indonesia not only as a passenger market but also as an investment destination to support industrial advancement," Prawiraatmadja said.
