Street food, live music and family-friendly entertainment will take over the village of Boliqueime later this month as the Boliqueime Food Festival (BFF) returns for its seventh edition.
Taking place from July 24 to 26, the festival will transform the Largo da Feira square into a lively outdoor venue filled with international street food, traditional Portuguese sweets, artisan stalls and live entertainment.
Visitors will be able to sample a wide range of dishes, from Portuguese favourites to mouthwatering dishes from abroad, while browsing handcrafted products and local delicacies.
Organisers say the festival has become one of Boliqueime’s best-loved summer events, attracting both residents and visitors from across the Algarve.
“The Boliqueime Food Festival has become an important fixture in our summer calendar,” said Nelson Brazão, president of Boliqueime Parish Council. “Every year it attracts more interest and welcomes residents and visitors from across the region.”
Live music is at the heart of the three-day event, with tribute performances celebrating U2, Bryan Adams and Queen, alongside local bands and DJs performing into the early hours.
On Friday, July 24, Ray & Ventura open the entertainment at 9pm, followed by a U2 tribute show at 11pm. DJ Canhoto takes over at midnight, before Deejay G3 closes the night from 1am.
On Saturday, July 25, The Guinness Brothers perform at 9pm, with Reckless – A Bryan Adams Tribute taking to the stage at 11pm. DJ Tuxx performs from midnight, followed by DJ Bentz from 1am.
The festival concludes on Sunday, July 26, with Maritenda Allstars performing at 9pm, ahead of a Queen tribute show at 11pm. DJ Borisoft starts at midnight, before DJ Dhanny brings the festival to a close from 1am.
The festival runs daily from 7pm until 2am.
Entry is free.
