
Janine Gutierrez vowed to always stand by Jericho Rosales as he faces recent challenges involving his family—just as he has always been there to support her in similar difficult circumstances.
The actress extended his congratulatory greetings to her actor boyfriend, who recently won the Best Actor award at the 9th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (The Eddys) for his performance in “Quezon.”
“Congratulations! I’m so happy for him,” she said on the sidelines of the Cinemalaya 2026 media conference on Wednesday, July 8.

While Gutierrez was not physically present to support Rosales because she was out of the country during the awards ceremony, the actor honored her in his acceptance speech for being one of the sources of his strength and for “holding [his] hand.”

He also dedicated his win to his mother who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
“Medyo literal ‘yung kwento na ‘yon kasi may time na nagprosthetics siya—binuhusan ng prosthetics ‘yung mukha niya so natatakot siya kaya literal na nakahawak ako [sa kamay niya],” Gutierrez shared.
(That story was quite literal because there was a time when he had prosthetics applied to his face. He got scared, so I was literally holding his hand.)
“But I’m grateful kasi hindi niya ako nakakalimutan sa mga pagpapasalamat niya,” she added. (But I’m grateful because he always includes me among the people he’s grateful for.)

Aside from his career milestones, Gutierrez also assured her unwavering support for the actor in his personal endeavors, especially matters involving his family.
“Kahit anong pagdaanan ng isa’t isa, one of the things na ipinagpapasalamat ko is nand’yan siya palagi. So, of course, nando’n din ako para sa kanya,” she said. “Walang bibitaw.”

(No matter what wither of us goes through, one of the things I’m grateful for is that he’s always there for me. So, of course, I’ll always be there for him, too. Neither of us is letting go.)
Just weeks earlier, Jericho made headlines after the wife of his brother, Jeremiah Rosales, claimed that the former actor had relapsed into substance use and was missing.
Jericho later clarified that Jeremiah was not missing and that he is safe with their family in the province.
Meanwhile, Janine’s movie “Mag-iina,” (The Mothering) is among the nine full-length movies participating in the 2026 Cinemalaya film festival, where she will be acting alongside her paternal aunt, Jackie Lou Blanco, and directed by Giancarlo Abrahan.
