The 2026 Emm Award nominations are here, with shows such as Widow’s Bay, The Pitt, Pluribus and Hacks earning nods. Here’s the complete list.
Why Seth Rogen Is Banned From Presenting at the Emmys
Quiet on set—the 2026 Emmy nominations are here.
While the hopefuls for TV’s biggest night—set to air Sept. 14 on NBC and Peacock—will be announced on July 8 by The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas and Widow’s Bay’s Jeff Hiller at 11:30 a.m. ET, Today kicked off the day by sharing two categories on Instagram.
Ahead of nomination day, there were a few series predicted to lead the pack, including Hacks. But while the comedy series starring Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs and Meg Stalter has dominated the Emmys since its 2021 premiere, this year will mark its last appearance at the award show as 2026 saw the release of the fifth and final season. (Maybe now anyone nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy will stand a chance, with Smart having won the category four years running.)
Other shows that were expected to pull nomination numbers were season two of The Pitt as well as Apple TV’s new series Widow’s Bay and Pluribus.
The latter is the streamer’s sci-fi drama which sees Rhea Seehorn as Carol, one of the few people on Earth who didn’t become part of a worldwide hive mind after an alien virus was replicated and released across the planet. The series—also starring Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga—was met with acclaim from both audiences and critics alike and is expected to be a major contender at this year’s Emmys.
HBO Max
As for Widow’s Bay, the horror comedy series stars Matthew Rhys as a mayor intent on revitalizing his small New England island—a feat that would be much easier were it not for all the, pardon our French, spooky s--t happening. Also starring Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kate O’Flynn and Stephen Root, with its April 2026 release date the series falls within the June 2025 to May 2026 date parameters for this year’s Emmys, where it’s expected to do quite well.
Meanwhile, after the first season of The Pitt earned 13 nominations and five wins at the 2025 ceremony—including wins for stars Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa and Shawn Hatosy—season two of HBO’s beloved medical drama is expected to once again stitch up a number of wins.
