CABANATUAN CITY, NUEVA ECIJA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office has prepositioned several of its equipment and manpower to at least three strategic places for fast response in case Typhoon Inday affects their area of responsibility.
Engr. Kevin Garcia of the maintenance section of DPWH in Nueva Ecija said a backhoe, two dump trucks, and service vehicles were deployed in Barangay Labi of Bongabon town.

A backhoe, two bulldozers, a dump truck, and service vehicles were also sent to Gabaldon town, while two payloaders, two graders, two backhoes, two mini-dump trucks, a dump truck, a manlift, chain saws, night lights, and generator sets were brought to its Cabanatuan City office.

The pieces of equipment were already brought to the said areas, Garcia said.
With that, Garcia said they are now on constant monitoring through focal persons in case they are needed to respond to the effects of the oncoming typhoon.
Garcia added that through the prepositioning of equipment, they hope to reduce their response time. /cb
