Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's visit to Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, on Tuesday, reflected growing global investor interest in the country's strategic investment projects, Danantara Chief Executive Rosan Roeslani said.
"The strong interest from investors conveyed by Tony Blair during his visit confirms that Indonesia is firmly on the radar of global investors. We are seeing tremendous enthusiasm from investors to participate in our country's economic development," Roeslani said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He said Danantara would continue working to maintain investor confidence by facilitating greater foreign investment into Indonesia.
"Danantara is ready to serve as an effective bridge for international capital to enter Indonesia, and market sentiment has remained highly positive toward the government's initiatives," he said.
According to Roeslani, Blair believes Danantara is well positioned to attract foreign investors seeking to expand their presence in Indonesia.
He said the interest expressed by Blair sends a strong signal about the sustainability of Indonesia's economic growth.
"Support from a global figure like him validates our economic policies. These investors are not here for the short term, they are committed to Indonesia for the long term," Roeslani said.
He added that foreign investors are increasingly taking proactive steps to partner with Danantara as a strategic investment partner in Indonesia.
"Danantara has become a strategic partner sought after by many foreign investors. We have a portfolio and pipeline of projects that are highly attractive to international capital," he said.
Roeslani said Danantara would continue accelerating investment processes to help expand economic growth.
"We will accelerate this process so that its benefits can be felt by the public as soon as possible. This is only the beginning, more investors will follow," he said.
