Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding guests ensured their secrets didn’t end up splashed on the news front page.

As for exactly how long they’ve kept the couple’s secret, one guest revealed when he officially received an invitation. Indeed, BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James, who attended the nuptials with his wife Bella Mackie, revealed he received his invite on March 12.

“The invitation arrived on my phone,” he recounted during the July 8 broadcast of All Day Breakfast, “ in the form of a link in the middle of the night.”

But the letter left on his digital doorstep came the night before he took off on a charity bike race. Given that he was about to embark on a strenuous journey, he put the invitation in the back of his mind.

“I had to sit with it all week,” he continued. “I basically turned my phone straight off and was like, ‘I can’t deal with that now, that’s way too mad. I’m about to cycle 1,000 km on a tandem. I can’t do this right now.’ So that was it and I didn’t tell anyone for the whole week.”

Opting out of a traditional paper invitation, Swift and Kelce kept all correspondence electronic in order to discreetly inform people about their white-veil occasion. However, their wedding invites were so vague—only listing “Manhattan,” “early evening” and “July 3” as details—James thought he received a pretty lie.

“There was a huge part of us, that me and Bella were like, ‘This could not be real. This could be a scam,’” he confessed. “So until we were in, we thought we may have made a big trip here for nothing. I wasn’t sure until we got there.”

But, the invitation should have come as no surprise to James. After all, the “All Too Well” singer publicly invited him to her wedding in October 2025.

“Am I coming?” James had asked Swift on his show at the time, to which she responded, “Obviously.”
