One person dies suddenly while Rotorua house on fire

One person has died on Thursday morning on Hona Road in Rotorua, as emergency services were called to a house fire.

St John said it was notified of a fire incident at Hona Road just after 7am, with one ambulance and one rapid response unit at the scene.

Fire and Emergency said two crews responded to the fire, which has now been extinguished.

Police say the death does not appear to be suspicious.
