
BUTUAN CITY – The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte (CGSSDN) temporarily suspended travel for all types of watercraft with 35 gross tonnage and below on Thursday morning due to unfavorable weather conditions caused by Typhoon Inday (international name Bavi).
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, in its 5 a.m. weather bulletin Thursday, said several areas in the country, particularly the northern and eastern seaboards, will experience rough sea conditions with wave heights reaching up to 4.0 meters.

“The temporary suspension of travel remains in effect and will only be lifted until further notice,” CGSSDN said.

Meanwhile, CGS Siargao also issued a temporary suspension of sea travel on Thursday for the same tonnage of vessels traveling to Bucas Grande Islands, Dinagat Islands, and other areas affected by the unfavorable weather.
CGS Dinagat Islands previously ordered the suspension of travel on Wednesday afternoon, which remains in effect as of press time.
