Over P490,000 shabu seized in anti-illegal drug operation in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities arrested two alleged drug traffickers and recovered P493,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in an operation in Malinao town in Albay early Wednesday.

While police officers proceeded with their surveillance operations in Barangay Estancia at around 12:35 a.m., the suspects, identified as “Leo” and “Tina,” attempted to evade them by “hitting” the police vehicle with their vehicle, Albay police said on Thursday.

The suspects allegedly hurled drug paraphernalia onto a grassy portion of the area before they were arrested. But authorities were able to recover 14 large and one medium-sized sachets of shabu during a body search, with a total of 72.5 grams confiscated during the drug bust.
