MANILA, Philippines – Creating content today means growing an audience while also finding consistent ways to earn enough to maintain stability. PIXEL, a platform developed by fintech company Eplayment, addresses this by bringing creator monetization tools into a single platform.
Making monetization accessible
PIXEL contains options for monetization options: gifts, Q&A opportunities, commissions, and access to exclusive content.
“PIXEL is designed to create a structure for our content creators to earn from what they are doing,” said PIXEL Product Owner, Let Perez in an interview with Tech INQ. “It’s not just about transactions, it’s actually to build that community.”

For aspiring creators, navigating the business side of content creation—from pricing services to accepting payments—can be just as challenging as producing content itself.

“Some creators don’t know how to start,” explained Perez. “Talking about money from a content creator perspective, monetization is very confusing. It’s inconsistent, and here in the Philippines, sometimes it’s very uncomfortable.”
Creator and Communications Lead, Pau Castillio spoke from experience as a creator before entering the team.
“Before becoming part of the internal team, I saw things from both perspectives,” said Castillo. “To me, PIXEL is something that can really take care of its people, both externally and internally.”

Alongside the platform, PIXEL introduced PIXEL Academy to train budding content creators with the use of their platform and effective ways to build their brand.
Kang Dupet is one of the known creators who spoke during PIXEL Academy’s first session. As a PIXEL user, Dupet valued the community and support the PIXEL team has provided.
“One thing I’m really proud of is the community, the connections you make here aren’t temporary. They are the kind of people who will continue supporting you throughout your journey,” Dupet said.

Developing the platform
The idea for PIXEL began during Eplayment’s development and release in 2019.
The members of Eplayment saw that content creation would boom into what it is today and began ideating what PIXEL could look like.
“So from 2019, when we started Eplayment, we decided that we wanted to venture and support the content creation industry some more. We released PIXEL in 2023,” said Perez.
PIXEL is still going into further developments to improve the platform and the experiences of the users.
According to Perez, she hopes PIXEL will eventually become the first platform Filipino creators think of when beginning their content creation journey.
“I want us to reach a point in the industry where asking for money is no longer something that is awkward and uncomfortable,” she added.
“I don’t think the platform will ever have a final form,” continued Castillo. “We keep on learning from our creators. We’re learning about what they want, what they need from a platform. I don’t think we’ll ever come to a point where we’re like, it’s done.”
