
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Tuba, Benguet on Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said that the center of the earthquake was located nine kilometers (km) west of Tuba at 2:33 p.m.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 10 km.

Phivolcs also said that instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity V: Baguio City, Benguet
Intensity IV: Aringay, La Union
Intensity III: Sison, Pangasinan
Intensity II: Urdaneta, Pangasinan
Intensity I: Cuyapo and Lingayen, Pangasinan
It added that no aftershocks or damage to property are expected from the tremor. /mcm
