Ashfall halts flights in Mactan airport

CEBU CITY—Ashfall from the moderate eruption of Kanlaon Volcano on Thursday morning has affected the operations at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), leading to the cancellation of several flights.

At least 19 departures from MCIA were cancelled as of 3:50 p.m. These were bound for Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Coron, Bicol, Siargao, Ozamiz and Clark.

Some four arrivals from Caticlan, Manila and Davao were also cancelled.
