Beyond the mesmerizing hair transformations and avant-garde styling, Color the Future served as a gathering of creative minds and industry talents united by a shared passion for hair. For the hundreds of stylists, salon owners, and beauty enthusiasts in attendance, the event became a source of inspiration—showcasing new perspectives, celebrating artistic expression, and encouraging professionals to reimagine the possibilities of their craft.
To bring this vision to life, Goldwell assembled two of Asia’s leading creative talents: Mr. Dylan Tung, Creative Director of Evolve Salon Singapore and the Goldwell Asia Regional Artist, and Mr. Alex Carbonell, Chief Creative and Learning Director of Bench Fix Salons and Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell.
Dylan Tung, with the expert technical assistance of Jimmy Yap, brought Singapore’s signature sleek, modern edge to the runway. They captivated the audience by focusing heavily on advanced color placement, demonstrating how strategic shading and multidimensional tones work seamlessly to entirely redefine a person’s facial structure and features. Their showcase proved that color precision and placement innovation are the true keys to creating effortless, head-turning movement without relying on drastic changes to the hair’s length. “Colors convey moods,” Tung shared. “Well-designed styles and the right color placements enhance your facial features. When that happens, it boosts your confidence.”
Alex Carbonell’s collection drew inspiration from Filipino elements, translating local culture and identity into contemporary hair artistry. Through his collection, Alex Carbonell reminded us that an artist’s most powerful source of inspiration is their own heritage. And no matter how far the industry moves into the future, the stories, culture, and identity we come from will always remain at the heart of our creativity.
To complete the visual storytelling of the runway, a collaboration with Fashion Institute of the Philippines designers Aisa Yap, Teng Surisantos, and Kristine Ordinario was featured, presenting avant-garde outfits that elevated the overall creative direction of the show.
As the lights dimmed at Whitespace Makati, the message left by Dylan Tung, Alex Carbonell, and Goldwell resonated clearly: the future of hair is bold, unapologetic, deeply individual, and beautifully diverse. Through creativity, innovation, and education, Color the Future inspired the industry to embrace new possibilities and redefine the art of hair for the next generation. More importantly, the event reinforced a powerful truth—that while technology and AI continue to evolve, the creativity, human connection, and artistic intuition of hairstylists remain irreplaceable.
