The Almancil Summer and Communities Festival returns from July 31 to August 2, bringing three evenings of free live music, gastronomy, artisan markets and family-friendly entertainment to the Jardim das Comunidades.
One of the Algarve’s most popular summer events, the festival traditionally attracts thousands of residents and holidaymakers, celebrating the cultural diversity and traditions of the Loulé parish. Entry is free, with gates opening daily at 6pm.
This year’s programme combines headline concerts with performances by local dance groups, folklore ensembles and community organisations, alongside children’s entertainment, regional crafts and food stalls serving traditional Portuguese specialities.
The festival opens on Friday, July 31, with the traditional Communities Parade at 6pm, followed by performances from Batucadeiras, Danças Araguaney, César Matoso & ALLCANTE and the duo Valter e Canário. Portuguese singer Maninho tops the bill with a concert at 10.30pm.
On Saturday, August 1, the programme features performances by the ADA – Academia de Dança do Algarve, AllDance Academy, Orquestra Garvefole and Ruben Filipe, before a fire and light show by Mulher do Fogo. The evening concludes with a headline performance by Soraia Ramos at 10.30pm.
The festival closes on Sunday, August 2, with appearances by Al-Fanfare, the Rancho Folclórico de Loulé, the Marcha de Almancil and Tokisom, before acclaimed Portuguese singer Marisa Liz, renowned for her powerful vocals, closes the festival with the final headline concert at 10.30pm.
Paulo Teixeira, president of Almancil Parish Council, said the festival reflects the identity of the community and serves as an important meeting point for both residents and visitors. He added that organisers aim to continue growing the event and further establish it as one of the Algarve’s leading summer festivals.
The festival has once again been awarded the Ecoevento label by waste management company Algar, recognising its commitment to environmental sustainability and recycling.
The event is organised by the Almancil Parish Council, with support from Loulé Municipal Council.
