
Kyle Mifsud has resigned as CEO of Malta’s Detention Services Agency, bringing his tenure leading the agency to an end.
Mifsud is set to return to the healthcare sector and is expected to take up a role at Mater Dei Hospital in the coming days.
The Detention Services Agency oversees Malta’s detention centres in Safi and Ħal Far, where asylum seekers are housed while their immigration procedures are processed.
During his time as CEO, the agency introduced a number of initiatives aimed at improving detainees’ welfare, including healthcare services, upgrades to living quarters, educational programmes and recreational activities.
