Luke Wilson and Girlfriend Kendall Yates Privately Welcome First Baby Together

Luke Wilson and Kendall Yates have an heir for their family stone.

The couple, who have been dating since at least 2023, recently welcomed a baby together, bringing the infant along to a press reception for Wilson’s upcoming Netflix series The Hawk, according to multiple outlets.

Wilson, 54, and Yates, 24, arrived at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif. carrying their little one in a carrier. The couple introduced their new addition to several of Wilson’s castmates, including Jimmy Tatro.

And the milestone has been a long time coming Wilson—brother to Andrew Wilson, 61 and Owen Wilson, 57—as he previously shared his plans to have kids nearly 20 years ago.

“I don’t have a girlfriend, but I wouldn’t mind one,” Wilson admitted to People in 2007. “I definitely want [kids] at some point.”

While both of his brothers are fathers themselves, Wilson expressed that his parents would be thrilled to add more kids to their brood, noting, “I’m sure they’d love more.”

But while Wilson was more forthcoming with his future life plans in the late aughts, he’s since become much more private.

After all, his relationship with Yates was only confirmed in January 2023 when the couple made their first public appearance together. At the time, the duo stepped out on a California beach showing off some PDA while walking Wilson’s dog.

In the years, the couple has had some sparse public dates, including their most high profile date night at the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga—Chapter 1 in Los Angeles in 2024.

In photos from the premiere afterparty at STK Steakhouse in Los Angeles, Yates is all smiles in a white halter dress, placing one hand on Wilson’s thigh. The Legally Blonde alum, for his part, kept true to his signature fashion in navy blue slacks, a light blue pinstriped shirt and a tie.

Although Wilson—who has previously dated Drew Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow—has kept his private life under lock and key in recent years, Barrymore has shared rare insight into his dating life while reflecting on their two-year romance in the late 1990s, joking they were living “young and wild” lifestyles.

“We're just young, we're having fun, we're all playing, acting, hanging out,” Barrymore, who confirmed she and Wilson had an open relationship, explained on her eponymous talk show in 2022. “You're not taking it all so seriously and it was fun."

The Fever Pitch actress emphasized, “We had the best time!”
