Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - The West Java provincial government has offered six strategic projects to investors from Malaysia and other ASEAN countries during the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) ASEAN 2026, held in Bandung from July 9 to 10, 2026.
West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan said all six projects are being promoted as flagship investment opportunities to help drive the province's economic growth.
"I believe this event will further strengthen the good cooperation between the Selangor government and the West Java provincial government," Setiawan said here on Thursday.
He said the six high-value projects include the development of the Kertajati Aerospace Park, the Greater Bandung Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, renewable energy projects, industrial estates, creative economy development, and vocational education.
"I hope this meeting and event will not merely be ceremonial but will continue with concrete follow-up actions by business players from both West Java and Selangor," he said.
Setiawan explained that economic relations between West Java and Malaysia have continued to show a positive trend.
Over the past five years, realized Malaysian investment in West Java has reached around Rp47 trillion (around US$2.60 billion), making Malaysia one of the province's largest foreign investors.
In addition to investment, Malaysia is also one of West Java's major trading partners, ranking among the province's top 10 export destinations, with a trade surplus of US$1.1 billion.
He added that Malaysia has also made a significant contribution to West Java's tourism sector, accounting for around 12.5 percent of total international tourist arrivals in the province.
"This underscores the close trade relationship between Malaysia and West Java, especially with Selangor," Setiawan said.
