MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday called on government officials to stop playing politics and advancing their own interests and instead focus on the betterment of the country.
This was what Duterte answered when asked of her message to the Filipino people amid the recent events in the country. Her impeachment trial already began last Monday, and is scheduled to run for 92 trial days.

Duterte then addressed the Filipinos, and told them not to lose hope for the country. She also reminded the youth to have discipline to finish their studies.

As Duterte skipped the opening of her trial last Monday, she showed up to the Senate halls on Tuesday for a meeting with her lawyers. In a brief press conference, she did not answer questions, but once again referred to her impeachment as a bloodbath, uttering: “In this bloodbath and bludgeoning, I will be bloodied but unbowed.”
