With Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” set to bring Homer’s ancient epic back to the big screen this month, readers can revisit the source material in a deluxe hardbound edition that bundles both “The Iliad” and “The Odyssey” into one volume.
The “Homer: The Iliad & The Odyssey” deluxe edition, now a No. 1 bestseller on Amazon, features the two foundational Greek epics in a single 768-page English-language hardbound volume. The omnibus includes “The Iliad,” Homer’s account of the Trojan War, alongside “The Odyssey,” which follows Odysseus on his long, perilous journey home to Ithaca after the war.

The Iliad & the Odyssey (Deluxe Hardbound Edition)
The new release comes ahead of Nolan’s major adaptation of Homer’s nearly 3,000 year-old Greek poem. The star-studded cast — including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Tom Holland and Charlize Theron — touched down in London earlier this week for its global premiere, marking the official launch of what many expect to become among the hottest releases of the summer.
Nolan’s adaptation follows Odysseus after the Trojan War as he encounters mythic figures and threats on his way back home, including the Cyclops, the Sirens and Calypso.
“It felt like six or seven movies in one,” Damon told Variety on the red carpet. “Because it kind of was. Each location was incredibly challenging, but each location was challenging in a different way. And I said to Emma [Thomas], actually, like a month in, I said, ‘Thank God I’m not producing.’”
For moviegoers hoping to brush up before the film, the deluxe Homer edition offers a useful two-in-one primer. “The Iliad” gives readers the Trojan War context that precedes Odysseus’ journey, while “The Odyssey” lays out the episodic adventure that Nolan is adapting for the screen.
