
EXCLUSIVE: Diego Calva is set to join the cast of Paramount Pictures Possession, a remake of the 1981 supernatural thriller. Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley are set to star with Paul Dano also recently joining the cast.
Parker Finn is directing from a script he penned. Finn is also producing as well as Jonathan Fass through their Bad Feeling banner as well as Roy Lee through his Vertigo banner. Andrew Childs will also produce through Vertigo.. Robert Pattinson is also producing. Marc Bienstock will exec produce.
The 1981 film revolves around a woman who starts exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior after asking her husband for a divorce. Suspicions of infidelity soon give way to something much more sinister.
Following premieres at the Cannes Film Festival, Calva will next be seen in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell opposite Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton, which Neon will release on July 24th. This fall, Calva will be seen in Jordan Firstman’s acclaimed Club Kid opposite Firstman and Cara Delevigne, which A24 acquired after Cannes. He was most recently seen starring in the second season of BBC/Amazon’s The Night Manager opposite Tom Hiddleston as well as Daniel Minahan’s On Swift Horses with Jacob Elordi for Sony Pictures Classics. Calva broke out as the lead of Damien Chazelle’s Babylon opposite Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, a performance which Calva received a Golden Globe nomination.
Calva is globally represented at WME, Entertainment 360, Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman, as well as Lumina Management in Mexico.
