
EXCLUSIVE: Blair Redford (Three Women, The Gifted) has been tapped for a heavily recurring role in Baywatch, Fox‘s upcoming reboot of the famous lifeguard action drama.
Redford will play Hunter, a rugged, seen-it-all camera guy who has worked everywhere from Hollywood film sets to war zones. He’s charming, easygoing, and knows how to handle himself. He’s introduced to the team at Baywatch while filming a news special on female first responders, but when things heat up between him and one of the guards, he finds a reason to stick around long after the cameras stop rolling.
Stephen Amell stars in the series lead role of Hobie Buchannon, wild child from the original series and now a Baywatch Captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch. Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie (Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.
Alongside Amell and Belkin, the series stars Shay Mitchell (Trina), Hassie Harrison (Nat), Thaddeus LaGrone (Brad), Brooks Nader (Selene) and Noah Beck (Luke). In heavily recurring roles, OG series star David Chokachi reprises his role of Cody Madison, Livvy Dunne guest stars as junior lifeguard Grace, Mary McDonnell as Gayle and John Beckwith as Julian. Original series stars Erika Eleniak, Michael Bergin and Kelly Packard will guest-star and reprise their roles as lifeguards Shauni McLain, Jack J.D. Darius and April Giminski.
Baywatch is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle with Matt Nix serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside executive producers McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG directs the series premiere episode.
Known for his role as the mutant superhero Thunderbird on Fox’s Marvel series The Gifted, Redford was most recently seen in Starz’s Three Women, opposite Shailene Woodley, DeWanda Wise and Betty Gilpin. He was a regular on USA Network’s Satisfaction and can be can be heard on the serialized narrative podcast Unsinkable, alongside John Malkovich, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Brian Cox. Redford is repped by IAG and AWA.
Baywatch is set to launch on Fox in January 2027.
