MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Inday further weakens, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 km per hour and gusts of up to 185 kph, the weather bureau said Friday.
It was located 620 km. east of Basco, Batanes as of 4 a.m., moving northwest at 20 kph., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Gale-force winds will prevail in areas where wind signal no. 2 is hoisted: Batanes, the eastern portion of Babuyan Islands (Babuyan Is., Didicas Is., Camiguin Is.) and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana).

Inday is forecast to remain as a typhoon and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday.
PAGASA Administrator Nathaniel Servando told the Philippine News Agency that wind signal no. 1 may still be hoisted in Batanes even when Inday exits PAR.
He said Inday would enhance the habagat despite the cyclone’s downgrade into a typhoon. (PNA)
