Justin Baldoni Breaks Silence on 'It Ends With Us' Legal Battle With Blake Lively
For Justin Baldoni, it ends with his friends on his side.
The It Ends With Us actor and director and his wife Emily Baldoni were met with love from their closest friends after breaking their silence on his legal battle with Blake Lively.
Former Jane the Virgin costars Gina Rodriguez and Brett Dier showed their support in the comments of Justin and Emily’s July 8 Instagram, with Gina adding a heart emoji in the comments and writing, “Love you friends. Por vida. [For life.]”
And Brett was equally as affectionate, adding his own heart emojis and saying, “I love you guys.”
The relationship between the trio—who costarred on the CW series together from 2014 to 2019—has always been strong, with Justin even serenading Gina as she walked down the aisle during her wedding to husband Joe LoCicero in 2019.
“Justin is also one of my closest friends,” Gina told Us Weekly in 2024, “and we talk all the time.”
As for Justin and Emily, they also shared their thanks to their supporters in their Instagram video, which comes two months after he reached a settlement deal with Blake following her initial lawsuit against him alleging a hostile work environment on the set of It Ends With Us.
"So many of you had discernment, and you used your intuition, and you trusted that, and you have given your time to fight for us," Justin said. "Thank you does not feel like enough, but we're here in large part because of so many of you and all of our friends and family, and one thing that we've learned is that when God presses the reset button and everything else is stripped away, that's when love shows up."

Justin and Emily—who married in 2013—were also grateful that they could finally make their voices heard.
"We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years," Justin explained. "And it's not because we haven't had anything to say, because Lord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this, we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn't feel like the right time."
Emily—who shares kids Maiya, 11, and Maxwell, 8, with the Not Today actor—added, "We can genuinely say that we are sitting here today feeling immense gratitude for so many things, and so many people, and so many things that have happened to us."

Justin and Blake’s legal battle first began in December 2024 when the actress filed a complaint alleging that Justin sexually harassed her on the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel. Justin denied the claims, as well as her allegations that his company Wayfarer Studios retaliated against her by launching a smear campaign to harm her reputation and discredit her.
He later countersued, although that was dismissed in June 2025 after a judge found that Justin failed to prove his allegations of defamation and civil extortion against Blake.
A settlement was finally reached in May, one month after a judge had dismissed 10 of Blake’s 13 claims against Justin, including allegations of sexual harassment.
