
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – An estimated P8.9 million worth of property was damaged after a fire hit a commercial building along Mantawi Drive in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City on Thursday afternoon, July 9.
According to the report from the Bureau of Fire Protection Mandaue City Fire Office, the alarm was reported at 2:04 p.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of fire trucks and emergency responders.

The first alarm was raised at 2:08 p.m. The fire was placed under control at 2:37 p.m. and was declared extinguished at 2:41 p.m.
Authorities said the fire involved a 112-square-meter assembly-type commercial building. No families or residents were affected as the incident involved a commercial establishment.

One male welder sustained difficulty breathing during the incident and received immediate medical attention. No fatalities were reported.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
