TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Volcanic ash from the recent eruption of Kanlaon Volcano disrupted air travel in Bohol on Friday, July 10, forcing the cancellation of several flights at Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA).
Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corporation (ABAC), the operator of BPIA, said the affected Cebu Pacific flights include DG 6957 (Tagbilaran–Davao) and DG 6598 (Tagbilaran–Iloilo) for departures, and DG 6597 (Iloilo–Tagbilaran) and DG 6956 (Davao–Tagbilaran) for arrivals.
Passengers are advised to coordinate directly with their respective airlines before heading to the airport, as flight schedules may continue to change depending on weather and volcanic conditions.

On Thursday, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Talibon town issued an ashfall advisory following the moderately explosive eruption of Kanlaon.
It urged residents to remain indoors as much as possible and wear an N95 mask when going outside and to wear goggles or protective eyewear to protect their eyes from volcanic ash.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology had reported that Kanlaon Volcano remains under alert level 2, indicating moderate unrest following Thursday’s moderately explosive eruption.
Authorities also warned that volcanic haze and light ashfall may affect parts of Central Visayas, including Cebu and nearby areas, potentially reducing air quality and disrupting transportation.
Residents are encouraged to monitor official advisories from Phivolcs, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, local government units, and airport authorities for the latest updates, and to avoid spreading unverified information. INQ
