CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City business owners have until July 20 to pay their third-quarter business taxes, fees, and other charges or face surcharges and monthly interest on unpaid obligations, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) reminded.
In an advisory, the CTO urged taxpayers to settle their accounts on or before Monday, July 20, warning that businesses that miss the deadline will incur a 25 percent surcharge and 2 percent monthly interest on the unpaid amount until full payment.
The office also encouraged business owners to avoid last-minute transactions by paying ahead of the deadline.

Satellite payment centers open on two Saturdays
To make payments more accessible, the CTO will open satellite payment offices on July 11 and July 18, allowing taxpayers to settle their obligations even on Saturdays.
The satellite payment centers will operate at SM Seaside City Cebu (ground floor, near the Land Transportation Office) and Robinsons Galleria Cebu (fourth floor).
Business owners may also pay through Cebu City’s online payment facility available on the city’s official website.

Penalties await late business tax payments
Under the city’s tax regulations, businesses that fail to meet the July 20 deadline will automatically incur financial penalties.
Aside from the 25 percent surcharge, unpaid taxes will also earn 2 percent interest every month until the obligation has been fully settled.
The city government said prompt tax payments help sustain the delivery of essential public services and fund development programs for Cebuanos.
