Pokwang emphasized how her upcoming Cinemalaya film “2 Valid IDs” mirrors the struggles of ordinary Filipinos — herself included — in securing valid identification card through inefficient public systems.
During the opening ceremonies for the 22nd edition of Cinemalaya, the actress-comedian spoke about how she related to her movie, recalling her firsthand experience of going through lengthy processes and enduring long lines just to obtain a valid ID.

Pokwang also pointed out the irony of having to present a valid ID in order to secure a valid ID, comparing it to companies requiring fresh graduates to have field experience.
She further shared how she has yet to receive the national ID she applied for in 2021.
Making an appeal to the government, she said, “Sana lang, especially ‘yung mga nasa laylayan nga, ‘wag na natin pahirapan ang sitwasyon [nila].”
