Hull moves within two of Evian Championship lead

Charley Hull trimmed Aki Iwai's lead to two shots with an encouraging second round at the Amundi Evian Championship.

England's Hull resumed her bid for a maiden major title by carding a one-under 70, featuring three birdies and two bogeys, leaving her joint-second, ahead of the afternoon wave teeing off.

Hull is joined on six under by Atthaya Thitikul after the Thai star stormed into contention with a sensational seven-under 64, featuring an eagle and five birdies.

Overnight-leader Iwai, who shot an opening-round 63 in France, resumes on eight under in the afternoon session, which also features England's Lottie Woad and world No 1 Nelly Korda.

Woad, who finished tied third in last year's event while still an amateur, posted a final-hole eagle to card an opening-round 67 and sit four shots behind Iwai.

Korda will hope to get her quest for a career Grand Slam-clinching victory back on track after a stuttering opening-round 74.
